POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of Director of Teaching and Learning is done for the purpose/s of assisting the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services to establish and maintain the curriculum and instructional program.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
· Master’s degree in job-related area · Teaching experience (3-5 years) · School/District leadership experience · Job-related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
· Arizona administrative certification preferred · Teaching certificate

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; various position specific information learned on the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
