We are looking for a Senior Facilities Technician who will join our Facility Operations team in Marysville, OH.
This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH. The Senior Facilities Technician has the freedom to perform the tasks necessary to satisfy customer requirements and is fully empowered to immediately address system or equipment issues that could result in a personal injury. The Senior Facilities Technician will interact with a wide variety of people within the company, including C-level executives, management, associates, and external resources.
What you’ll do in this role :
Phone and data line installation and maintenance.
Electrical system troubleshooting, repairs and changes.
Installation of a variety of furniture systems.
HVAC troubleshooting and changes.
Building maintenance.
Moving of items of a variety of sizes and weight.
Equipment troubleshooting.
Utilization of computer programs for energy management, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Administrative functions to ensure preventative maintenance is performed according to documented plans.
Leadership to other technical resources and contractors, including acting as backup to the Facilities Manager.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
Equipment Maintenance : Planned or emergency repair on all facility related equipment located within the Marysville campus. Work in varying climate conditions. Climb ladders or work from a platform or in sub-level areas for preventative and repair activities. Work in a singular mode with electrical (DC / AC / 110 / 480), plumbing, roof and siding repairs, carpentry, painting, wood and metal, etc.
Office Move Activity : Office furniture modifications, moves or system changes to improve office performance or ergonomics for associates. Phone and data cable changes, database maintenance, furniture dismantling, moves and assembly.
Regulatory, Life Safety and Building Security : Audit, diagnose and initiate corrective actions on facility systems that impact life safety system, waste and water systems, keys, locks and security devices. Ensure all emergency facility systems receive monthly, quarterly and annual audits for successful performance. Initiate necessary corrective steps upon determination of a fault or problem.
Documentation : Create written communications using email and other computer and electronic devices.
What you’ll need to be successful :
Leadership experience to direct other technicians and serve as the backup Facilities Manager. Ability to train and mentor junior level technicians.
Solid math skills applicable to electrical and furniture system installation.
Professional interpersonal relationship skills.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Thorough understanding of electrical systems, including use of voltmeter, phase determination on motors, etc.
Experience with telephone wiring and troubleshooting.
Mechanical experience with the support and maintenance of fire pump systems, HVAC systems, general building systems and furniture systems installation.
Blue print reading, understanding and interpretation.
Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
Proficient with MS Excel, Google email, and MS Word.
Minimum : Diploma from high school or technical school. Technical continuing education classes desired.
Electrician license or equivalent or Associates Degree is desired.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines, to be available for on-call after hours repair work and projects that may require weekend work.
Five or more years of applicable experience is desired.
The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $52,500.00 - $61,800.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
