About The Role
The Head of Sales oversees the creation and implementation of the brand’s business development strategy. This includes identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential retail partners, and overseeing the development and execution of business plans.
This position also works closely with other members of the executive team to ensure that the company’s overall strategy is aligned with its business development goals. This position reports to the VP of Marketing and will exclusively focus on brand development and growth.
As a senior sales leader, the Head of Sales helps the brand stay ahead of their competition by seeking out new partnerships and opportunities. They work closely with upper management to ensure that the company is meeting its goals.

- Identify and build relationships with strategic retail partners and develop retailer-centric marketing & trade support plans for both branded and private label opportunities
- Confirm and execute business agreements with identified partners, suppliers, brokers, and vendors according to growth plans
- Develop new business presentations and support materials to personally lead line reviews or support broker partners
- Develop plans for new market entry, existing market expansion and resource management by using market research and analysis – ensuring alignment with overall corporate goals
- Evaluate new businesses and regional relationships to increase market share through partnerships for both branded and private label opportunities
- Build and own demand forecast
- Review emerging trends and market movements to identify potential revenue streams and business threat
- Act as primary liaison between external retailer support staff and internal cross-functional team
- Own and lead both new account setup as well as ongoing support including managing trade and accruals, MAPS policy adherence, national promotional calendar (strategy and execution), as well as any other ad hoc needs to service the retailer
- Collaborate with innovation and brand teams to commercialize new market opportunities acting as the voice of the retailer and consumer to align on optimal market offerings
- Communicate business development strategies with internal stakeholders
- Lead monitoring of targets and goals with internal stakeholders
- Develop a strong understanding of the following areas related to each SKU: Manufacturing process / Functionality / Application of use / Core benefits of the product to retailer or consumer / Competitors / Market pricing
- Communicate basic product technical details to customers effectively
