What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Communications Coordinator position at Scout Curated Wears?
While some people might think that being a “jack of all trades, master of none” means a lack of expertise, you know the opposite is true. There is a special kind of expertise that comes when you’ve seen and done it all… catalogs, advertising, content, digital, PR, design, packaging… there isn’t much that you haven’t touched at some point. You understand enough about all of it to know what questions to ask, what to look for in a team, and when to leave something to an expert. And you love the challenge and variety of having all of it land on your desk at some point during a season. Chances are you have been the “go-to” person in your previous roles when people get stuck or need to solve problems, and for good reason. Your rock-solid steadiness gives others confidence, brings order to chaos, and helps the team shine even in challenging situations.
We are Scout Curated Wears, a “small giant” accessories brand in the gift industry that has recently expanded from jewelry into home. We are on a mission to be a hero to independent retailers, helping them grow their businesses with meaningful, versatile, giftable products that create connections with retail customers. We are looking for a marketing communications coordinator who can implement our marketing and merchandising plans across multiple communications channels. The marketing communications coordinator will be accountable for:
- Executing the marketing communications plans, and project managing any agencies, freelancers, and internal team members that are supporting the plan execution.
- Managing content creation for various marketing channels, including social media, email, website, and events or trade shows.
- Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing communications activities.
- Managing the production of marketing materials and ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Streamlining and optimizing the efficiency of marketing processes.
- Project managing and assisting at photoshoots.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced marketing communications coordinator to have major impact on the growth of the brand, and to work with a team that strives to create growth opportunities for independent retailers by providing insightful new product and merchandising options, and products that have both wide appeal and also deep personal connection with consumers Plus the Scout brand supports equality, inclusion, positive messages, human rights, and giving back to women’s causes.
This role is not a great fit for someone who has experience only working with established brands and large teams, or for someone looking to gain their first experience with a consumer brand. We are looking for a seasoned coordinator who can be a steadying force on the team, and who can add value to the brand by helping us streamline our processes and systems around brand marketing. This role is onsite in our Easthampton MA office.
