Job Type: Full Time, in person

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Work Location: West of downtown Dallas

Pay Range: $18 - $22 per hour depending on experience, 40 hours per week

Scout Design Studio is hiring for a Warehouse Associate role with a primary focus on shipping and receiving as well as general warehouse labor and maintenance. This position is physical in nature and will require the individual to be able to stay organized and work under pressure deadlines. The most important attribute we are looking for is a candidate who is positive, and willing to learn and grow with the company.

Located in the Dallas Design District, our 15,000 square foot showroom houses a well-edited collection of new and vintage furniture, artwork, lighting and home accessories from around the globe. Essential Functions Statement(s): 

• Loading and unloading of delivery trucks, verifying quantities and condition against packing slips and purchase orders consisting of home decor items and furniture.
• Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies to the appropriate person.
• Scan and record received items into the inventory management system, then sort and store products in designated warehouse locations.
• Picking customer orders and moving to delivery staging areas, if UPS shipments, generate shipping labels and affix them to packages.
• Collaborate with other warehouse team members to meet daily shipping and receiving targets.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and stock checks, then report any discrepancies in inventory levels.  
• Maintaining cleanliness of storage areas in the warehouse by sweeping, cleaning up trash, and keeping inventory organized.
• Transporting merchandise to and from the showroom and helping to maintain presentation by arranging furniture and art pieces.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Other general warehouse duties and any tasks as assigned by management.
• Perform special projects as needed and/or assigned by Management.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred 2 - 5 years experience in a warehouse environment, particularly with shipping and receiving functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment like dolly's, ladders, and carts.  
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. 
• Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility. 
• Must be able to work in and on overhead structures. 
• A clear background check, driving history, and drug test are required for this role.
