What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floorhand position at Scout Energy Management?
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with a 3-5 person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells
- Responsible for operating the mud pump, pipe wranglers, mixing fluids and performing equipment upkeep
- Pick up/lay down pipe and latch/unlatch tubing in elevators; perform derrick operations (operate rod basket equipment, etc.)
- Assist in loading and off-loading pipe and other items
- Assist with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig
- Work in the shop or assist in yard maintenance when necessary
- Assist in repairs and preparing workover rig for deployment when necessary
- Report any and all incidents to Rig Supervisor or Foreman immediately
- Service and maintain all equipment associated with rig
- Work floors and train other members of crew in derrick operations
- Run the rig for operator as needed and manage crew members when relief operating
- Perform other various tasks such as roustabout projects as assigned by the Rig Supervisor or Foreman

Education & Qualifications
- Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state-certified program
- Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
- Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation
- Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred
- Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
- Capable of rigorous outdoor activities with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme
