Overview
The General Assembly Technical Specialist ensures that the general assembly activities and products meet quality standards, product specifications and customer expectations. This role involves overseeing the general assembly shop, in the same way the specialist will perform problem solving activities, performing process audits, and implementing quality control measures. Additionally, the specialist will develop and maintain written quality standards and procedures to ensure consistent quality products. Experience with VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie), IATF standards and a working knowledge of automotive processes are essential for this role.

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00

- Evaluate adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Document findings from audits, including any non-conformities, and work with relevant teams to address and resolve issues.
- Review audit results and track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular process audits of the general assembly product and process to ensure compliance with quality standards, including VDA requirements and procedures.
- Evaluate adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Document findings from audits, including any non-conformities, and work with relevant teams to address and resolve issues.
- Review audit results and track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
- Development and creation as well as implementation of quality standards and projects including the corresponding specifications or general conditions for the department.
- Development, document, and maintain written quality standards and projects including the corresponding specifications or general conditions for the general assembly.
- Ensure that written standards are up-to-date, clear, and aligned with industry best practices and VDA standards.
- Communicate and train staff on written quality standards and procedures.
- Review and revise standards based on audit results, process improvements, and feedback from quality inspections.
- Communicate the results of analysis on fault management systems to involve the person responsible for solving and eliminating the fault to ensure product quality standards and, through this, factory indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Collect and interpret relevant historical data to determine the solution and elimination of faults to ensure product quality standards and, through this, factory indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Present analysis results in management forums to report the status of the solution and elimination of faults to transparently generate the steps to follow to achieve quality standards.
- Define quality requirements within the General Assembly to assure the product specifications.
- Analyze quality deviations from quality standards within the general assembly to determine the solution and elimination of faults to ensure the quality standards of the product and through it the factory indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective actions for general assembly.
- Support the development and refinement of general assembly procedures and best practices.
- Communicate the results of analysis on fault management systems to involve the person responsible for solving and eliminating the fault to ensure product quality standards and, through this, factory indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Check with the person responsible the corrective measures defined and implemented to control their effectiveness for the solution and elimination of faults.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, Quality, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of professional experience in automotive production and quality control concepts or a related field, including hands-on experience with general assembly product and processes. Proven experience with VDA standards is essential.
- Desired experience on launching Greenfield or Brownfield plant.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive processes, products, and materials, including familiarity with assembly tools, equipment, and best practices in the general assembly processes.
- Strong understanding of VDA standards and their application in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of process auditing techniques and methodologies.
- Excellent writing skills for developing clear and comprehensive quality standards and procedures.
