What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Supervise, evaluate, and empower an hourly team that produces manufactured products, and organize workflow to meet quality and daily productivity requirements.
  • Leader of BIW surface finishing standards and team member QA training.
  • Develop criteria for class A audits, implement inspection plans and finding reporting.
  • Work with Component Center
  • Regularly inspecting and testing products at various stages of production to identify defects and ensure compliance with BIW quality standards.
  • Implementing and adhering to SOPs to maintain consistency and quality in production processes.
  • Using statistical data to monitor and control production processes, ensuring they operate at their full potential.
  • Identifying root causes of defects and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, as well as preventive measures to avoid potential issues.
  • Keeping detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection results, test data, and corrective actions taken.
  • Regularly reviewing and improving quality standards to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Providing ongoing training to employees to ensure they understand and can effectively follow quality standards.
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members and leadership teams.
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement, while applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

The Quality Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading a section within a department aligning experience and knowledge to Scout's principles to achieve production and cost targets. The Quality Supervisor will drive the culture and processes to promote continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost and delivery. This position will work for the department manager to maximize overall quality and efficiency through involvement of the workforce. The ideal candidate will not only bring the leadership skills needed to lead a high performing team, but also the technical skills of building quality vehicles through processes and standards. The ideal Candidate would have the following:

  • 5 years of progressive experience leading and building teams
  • Data driven with a passion for developing people
  • Automotive/BIW experience
  • Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems
  • Knowledge of BIW Flush & Gap measurement concepts, Joining Tech and Surface Finish requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • The ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions/specifications
  • Strong understanding of Body in White manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in quality control tools and techniques (SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP).
  • Experience with quality auditing and standards (VDA, IATF).
  • Proficient in CAD software
  • Proficient with reading Optical or Tactile measurement equipment report.
  • Bachelor in Science or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green certification.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Proficient in data tracking, A3 practical problem solving and root cause analysis.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
