We’re seeking a talented and motivated Purchasing Agent reporting to our Procurement Manager. The Purchasing Agent is accountable for the execution of designated purchasing and inventory control processes for daily operations. The successful candidate will assist with implementing supply planning, entering new purchase requests and material inventory strategies for assigned suppliers, that optimizes total cost while improving operational margins and service to our customers. This position requires strong cross functional collaboration, critical thinking skills and business judgement – all while maintaining high levels of product knowledge, quality assurance and service to our customers. This role supports the business operation in a manner that enhances supply chain engagement, cost, productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer service.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate strategic purchasing planning to ensure adequate supply based on project dates
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Stay informed about changes in supply chain regulations and ensure compliance
