Job Title: Scout Shop Sales Associate and Registrar
Position of Immediate Supervisor: Scout Executive
General Summary:
Provide professional service to all customers of the Scout Shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for delivering unparalleled customer service to customers visiting or calling the store and resolving customer service issues.
2. Responsible for maintaining operational and merchandising standards and keeping store and merchandise clean and displayed properly.
3. Responsible for learning and operating computer retail and management software provided by the BSA.
4. Process all orders on a weekly basis to cover customer and staff orders as well as restocking the floor
5. Process mail and phone orders.
6. Complete End of Day paperwork and deposits, and balance cash drawers.
7. Generate monthly reports.
8. Conduct annual physical store inventory.
9. Utilizing registrar tools, process new youth and adults into Scouting
10. Assist units with their annual charter renewal process
11. Lead the Eagle Scout process, which includes the application and submission process
12. Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Other work related activities:
As determined by Council management, assist in other areas of council operations when needed: i.e. School Night, Popcorn Delivery, Council Events, and advising Council Operating Committees.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Excellent customer service skills.
2. Strong organizational skills.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
4. Retail and merchandising experience.
5. Ability to multitask and work with accuracy and speed.
6. Proven marketing and advertising skills.
7. Type at least 35 words per minute with minimal errors.
Work Relationships:
This position requires maintaining a good working relationship with other Professionals and Support Staff. This position requires significant involvement with volunteers including recruiting, relationships, training, motivation, and direction.
Physical Activity:
This position may, from time to time, call for any of the following physical activities: climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work, light work, medium and heavy work.
Mental Demands:
Reading, detail work, confidentiality, problem solving, language, stress, training, math, reasoning, verbal communication, written communication, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions. Knowledge and ability to use computer software is desirable but not mandatory.

Subscribe to the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and leadership standards of Scouting America.
Helpful to have had experience in Scouting field operations.
Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal.
Ability to lead and inspire staff and volunteers.

Accountability will be determined through the development, implementation, and regular reviews of specific critical achievements.
Dress Code and Official Scout Uniform:
You will be expected to present yourself in a positive manner by maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
