Position Overview
The District Director is the Chief Operating Officer of one or more districts and supervises one or more professionals in the district or in other districts. Is held accountable for the measurable achievements of the other professionals. Serves as a manager and operating officer of the district(s) and is responsible for the effective organization, operation, and promotion of the council program within the district(s). is responsible for the achievement of district(s) objectives, including the goals. Works with the chairman and commissioner of the district committee(s) and commissioner staff(s) to fulfill their functions and facilitate the optimum collaboration between the district and the board. This position will require travel and work with populations within central North Dakota.
Responsibilities
- Recruits develops, and maintains effective volunteers’ management team.
- Maintains a professional working climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates top-quality volunteers.
- Assures the district has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and makes consistent progress.
- Assures that the flow of funds from the district helps the council to achieve its mission.
- Serves as the chief district spokesman for the council to ensure that the council is properly represented.
- Provides leadership to other professional staff in another district.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Qualifications
- 3 years or more experience as a Scouting commissioned Professional.
- Seeking an individual who is professional in dress, well-spoken, and comfortable in social and networking settings.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication, and verbal presentation skills.
- Highly proficient in computer use.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PPT).
- Team player, positive attitude, resourceful, and willing to learn.
- Eligible for employment in the United States of America and commission from Scouting America.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with passionate and committed people.
- A flexible schedule is frequently required for evening/weekend events.
- Ability to communicate effectively with top corporate and community leaders.
- Organizational skills and proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and polished staff leadership skills.
- Excellent analytic skills with a proven commitment to accuracy and timeliness
- Fiscal management and budget development.
- Must possess a focus on continuous improvement and growth, both within the organization and within self.

Salary Range of $58,000 to $65,000 with relocation assistance.
