Position Overview
Seeking a dynamic self-starter, with at least 5 years experience in Scouts BSA summer camp operations and management to serve as a Council Program Director. Responsibilities include the operation of 2 Scout reservations and other program operations with the boundaries of 2 districts on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware.
Will have the opportunity to help plan and build Cub Scout camping facilities at Akridge Scout Reservation and launch a new Cub Scout summer resident camp program
Responsibilities
- Plans, promotes, and directs the council’s year-round outdoor program in 2 districts, which includes operation of Henson Scout Reservation SBSA summer camp and Akridge Scout Reservation which will include a Cub Scout Resident camp in the near future.
- Advises the Activities & Civic Service committee and related areas of responsibility.
- Advises volunteer committees including National Jamboree and Council-wide Camporee.
- Assures the council’s long-range strategy achieves its mission and makes consistent, timely progress. Develops the program budget, and staffing requirements and ensures programs meet their stated objectives.
- Will employ qualified staff for summer camp and follow camp policies and procedures to meet BSA standards.

Education
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university
Qualifications
5 years’ outdoor programs experience preferred. Scouting experience is a plus.
Recommended: Council Property & Program Administration and Leadership Development Series training
Physical Requirements:
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
- Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems. S
- Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.
Licenses
- Commissioned and Program Executive Basic Certification required

Salary or Salary Range: $52,500 to $65,000
