- Design and implement data architecture strategies that align with the organization’s healthcare objectives.
- Lead the establishment and documentation of technology direction and standards for data platforms, involving all aspects of information access and retrieval, integration, middleware translators, utilities, tools, and languages for use by information technology groups.
- Establish a Master Data Management program that will help create a common view of master data and provide a centralized mechanism for its aggregation, cleansing, transformation, augmentation, validation and syndication.
- Enable effective data and analytics governance: Suggest who can take what actions with what information, and under what circumstances. Assist data and analytics leaders, and business and IT leadership in developing information governance processes and structures.
- Mange risk: Aid the definition of data classifications and data zoning to allow information assets to be immediately identified and proactively managed as more information becomes federated in a digital economy.
- Secure data and analytic assets: Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions, and work with the chief information security officer (CISO) to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as protected assets compliant with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Provide data architecture thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, database design and implementation.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support analytics and reporting.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Design and oversee data integration solutions, including ETL processes and APIs, to facilitate interoperability across EHR, EMR, and other healthcare systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable and efficient solutions.
- Optimize database performance, data storage, and data retrieval processes.
- Implement and manage metadata, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and big data analytics in healthcare.
- Provide guidance on data governance policies and best practices.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, and analysts to ensure seamless data accessibility and usability.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, preferred.
- 8 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related roles within a healthcare environment.
- Certifications in data architecture, cloud computing, or healthcare IT (CDMP, AWS Certified Data Analytics, etc.).
- Experience with AI-driven healthcare analytics.
- Hands-on experience with data security frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of data architecture patterns including data lakes, data warehouse, data modeling, ontologies and knowledge graphs
- Strong understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.).
- Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing solutions (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Snowflake, etc.).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms, and APIs.
- Knowledge of big data technologies, machine learning, and predictive analytics in healthcare.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team and collaborate with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
