Patient Collections Representative II performs the duties of a Patient Collections Representative and builds on additional responsibilities. This role involves a deeper level of expertise in patient collections. The representative will continue to use automated dial-in systems for outbound calls, concentrating on collecting outstanding balances. Additionally, the role includes managing more complex insurance-related inquiries, conducting in-depth benefit reviews, and strategically adding insurance details for COB-related balances. Exceptional customer service remains a priority to elevate the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Verify and research provider insurance coverage history for operational teams and external parties.
  • Maintain quarterly reports for the Louisiana Patient Compensation Fund, Workers' Compensation reports, and invoices for monopolistic states.
  • Respond to Attorney requests and Worker's Compensation claims promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with third-party agencies to pull or hold collection accounts.
  • Escalate accounts to the appropriate department for review.
  • Counsel patients and present options for resolving their outstanding obligations.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries not immediately resolved.
  • Verify and research provider insurance coverage history for operational teams and external parties.
  • Ensure payment arrangements meet set guidelines.
  • Provide feedback to management concerning potential problems or areas of improvement.
  • Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
  • Perform delegated tasks assigned by management.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Familiarity with medical insurance terminology.
  • Contribute to the department by helping maintain the SLAs (Service Level
