The responsibilities include:
- Anticipating guests' needs, responding promptly, and acknowledging all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
- Maintaining positive guest relations at all times, resolving complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
- Adhering to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergencies.
- Continuously promoting sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
- Greeting guests, introducing them to menu options, and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
- Planning drink menus and taking orders from guests or other wait staff as required.
- Maintaining and cleaning the bar area and bar equipment.
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
- Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
- Having a thorough understanding of state liquor laws, always ensuring guests are of legal drinking age, and preventing over-serving according to the law.
- Adhering to relevant Food Safety Hygiene standards.
- Remaining up-to-date on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Working in a safe manner and abiding by OSHA regulations and the Hotel's policies in regard to accident and incident reporting procedures.
- Inspecting, planning, and ensuring that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
- Maintaining knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
- Maintaining knowledge of and complying with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
