What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Coordinator position at SCR?
The Field Service Coordinator will manage the daily operation of Parts and Services for the company's burner division. The primary function of this role is to identify and quality third party service resources and manage these resources to support the aftermarket needs of the company's division. The role will also entail providing technical support to our customers and the field resources to resolve issues as efficiently as possible. Coordinate company technical resources to ensure appropriate solutions are offered with a focus on improving margin and efficiency. This position is also pivotal in developing stronger relationships with our client base and market. This position works daily with both internal and external customers, confident communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for success. This position must be able to multi-task and respond to customer’s emergencies with technical resolutions with support from the company's many available resources.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain a network of third-party field service representatives to handle the aftermarket needs of our customers.
- Manage and grow the company's aftermarket parts business, including minimal engineered solutions and replacements.
- Assist purchasing with executing aftermarket parts orders.
- Review service tickets daily for accuracy of technical completion, procedures, time entry, and materials.
- Billing and AR responsibility for service and aftermarket.
- Manages job flow including manpower, scheduling, material availability, and dispatching.
- Quality control functions as required. Assist the company's engineering with final checkout and closeout paperwork on projects prior to startup to ensure smooth transition from project phase to commissioning and closeout.
- Light Field service work as required.
- All other duties as assigned by the Vice President of the company
Physical Skill and Effort:
- Work requires computer proficiency
- Willingness / ability to work after hours, weekends, and emergency hours as needed
- Must have the ability to work independently with little direct supervision
- Work involves light and simple types of physical exertion
Education:
A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Technical degree preferred.
Experience:
Must have experience in a management role, preferably in a dispatching service related company, such as Boiler service or HVAC. Any direct field electrical, technical, or mechanical skill will transfer into this role. Computer competency including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams are required.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
Normal office conditions. Customer visits may include exposure to site specific hazards and safety requirements. Work environment may include dusty and hot conditions.
