What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Professional position at Scranton Counseling Center?
Scranton Counseling Center has openings for Mental Health Professionals for the Crisis Recovery Stabilization Unit (CRSU), located at Scranton Counseling Center. The CRSU is an 8 bed residential unit focusing on short term stabilization for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. This unit will operate 24 hours per day/7 days a week.
Mental Health Professional (MHP) will function as the primary clinician during designated shift. The MHP will be a part of the treatment team with a focus on diverting an individual from inpatient mental health treatment. MHP’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: completing assessment and treatment plans on new admissions focusing on their crisis. MHPs provide individual and group therapy daily and complete aftercare plans with individuals ready for discharge to help with a successful transition back into the community. MHPs will provide support and observation of the individual while on the unit.
A Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or related field with 3 years of mental health direct care experience or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years direct care experience 2 years being supervisory, is required. This position will require rotating weekends and holidays.
