DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist students with mental health and / or learning problems such as attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, or social problems, including victimization of domestic or sexual abuse. Intervene and offer immediate guidance to students who disrupt classroom activities or show violent behavior toward teachers and / or toward other students. Assist teachers and parents in developing and implementing behavior management plans to remediate problem behaviors across settings. Assist students to improve their academic, personal, and social functioning. Provide social skills, anger management, stress reduction or other similar instruction to students who are experiencing social / emotional / behavioral problems that interfere with their learning or the ability of others to learn. Provides short-term individual and group counseling to students who are experiencing social / emotional / behavioral problems that interfere with their learning or the ability of others to learn. Assist students with social and learning challenges, and help students develop and reinforce correct behavior through systematic positive behavior reinforcement. Establish prevention programs and crisis intervention plans to help these students. Assist in the creation and modification of individualized behavior support / intervention plans Maintain documentation for purposes of monitoring student progress. Maintain a schedule for direct work with students. Submit billable hours via ACCESS. Support parent training, as a part of a team, to facilitate the use of appropriate supportive strategies within the home and community settings. Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and administrators to share information about students.
