What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Relations Intern position at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders?
Overview: The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are seeking a Community Relations intern for the upcoming season. The RailRiders Community Relations Department focuses on all community outreach and initiatives - connecting the team to our local community and developing strong relationships with schools, non-profits, and other stakeholders. Students interested in PR, marketing, communication, special events, sports management, or non-profit management are highly encouraged to apply. DURATION: April 2025 - September 2025
Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with answering and fulfilling donation and mascot appearance requests.
· Assist in execution of theme nights, awareness nights, mascot related events (CHAMP’s Birthday) and community initiatives during RailRiders’ home games including MiLB Charity Initiatives (Copa de la Diversion, The Nine, Joe Torre Safe At Home Domestic Violence Awareness Night, etc.)
· Assist in and planning an execution of all community centered special events and charity walks held at PNC Field on Saturday’s throughout the year.
· Assist in coordinating and scheduling families to use our Sensory Safe Suite - including assisting in the care and upkeep of the suite before each game.
· Help manage the Community Corner pregame and throughout the game.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work long hours including holidays, weekends and weeknights.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including ability in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
