Truck Scale Operator

The Truck Scale Operator is responsible for performing a variety of duties including:

• Provide exceptional customer service for all customers and visitors upon entry of the facility.
• Ensure that customers and visitors conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment.
• Answer incoming calls and provide prompt customer service
• Work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and communication by two-way radio with truck drivers and equipment operators.
• Support staff and manager as required.
• Inventory documentation.
• Dispatch company trucks.
• Review all documents to ensure regulatory and company requirements are met.
• Obtains required information from customers for all transactions.
• Scaling vehicles and Communicating where to load/unload materials.
• Accurately recording weights into database.
• Verify that incoming loads do not contain unacceptable material.
• Assist customers with verifying scale tickets and printing reports.
• Gathers load information required for purchasing and shipping.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the scale and surrounding areas.
• Keep supplies adequately stocked.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Communicate effectively with management.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Being punctual and reliable.
• A high degree of attention to detail.
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Safety oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Basic math, computer, and data entry skills.
• Aptitude to learn new technologies and solutions promptly.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
• Basic computer knowledge for work-related purposes.
• Monday –Friday, with 1/2-day Saturday shift as needed
• Bilingual is a plus
• Forklift experience or willing to learn
• Warehouse experience
