Administrative Assistant - Mingo Junction

Scrap Metal Services, LLC mill service team in Mingo Junction, OH is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent phone etiquette, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position requires a professional demeanor and the capability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. This position is inside of the JSW steel mill; dusty environment is to be expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records
• Perform data entry as required, Operate the truck weight scale and record weights of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Conduct necessary purchasing as needed, matching PO’s to invoices to ensure accuracy. (Obtain quotes for requested purchases, create requisitions, receive materials and services rendered in JD Edwards,)
• Assist with Payroll – tracking, calculating, input and monitoring time & attendance
• Assist employees with HR related issues: new hire paperwork, forms, changes, etc
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, customers and vendors
• Work as part of the team to meet, or exceed, KPI (Key Performance Indictor) efficiency and performance standards
• Provide support to team members by managing correspondence and preparing documents
• Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
• Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
• Support various administrative projects as assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role
• Prior experience working in an Industrial site is a plus
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
• Effective time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Familiarity with calendar management and front desk operations is a plus
• Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player
