What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse - Wound Care & Infection Preventionist position at Scribe Solutions?
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Treatment Nurse / Infection Preventionist to join a skilled nursing facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position plays a critical role in providing primary skin and wound care to residents, as well as developing and maintaining the facility's infection prevention and control program.
Key Responsibilities :
Infection Prevention / Wound Care :
- Develop, implement, and oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program.
- Lead the facility's Infection and Prevention Control Committee and oversee the antibiotic stewardship program.
- Provide ongoing education to staff, residents, and families on infection control practices.
- Monitor care activities that increase the risk of infection (e.g., wound care, incontinence care, blood testing).
- Ensure compliance with public health reporting for communicable diseases
- Perform thorough wound assessments and provide appropriate care based on physician orders.
- Document all wound assessments, treatments, and changes in resident conditions.
- Monitor and implement preventive measures to reduce pressure injuries and other skin conditions.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain infection control documentation and participate in Quality Assurance initiatives
