What are the responsibilities and job description for the Care Team Assistant - Surgery - Encinitas position at Scripps Health?
This is a Part-Time position (40 hours per pay period) with an 8-hour EVENING shift schedule located at our Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas. The shift is 2:30pm-11pm, working Monday through Friday with holiday on-call requirements.

As a Care Team Assistant, you will work under the direction of RN and Surgical Technologist to assist with the care of perioperative patients and OR room preparation tasks such as;
- Providing excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team.

Assisting with OR bed set ups.

Assisting with equipment and supplies.

Housekeeping duties to turn over rooms between cases.

Assisting in positioning patients for procedures.

Assisting in transporting patients.

Assisting with transporting labs/specimens

Assisting patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collect data, and ensure the patient has a safe, organized environment.

Assisting with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician.

Support the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.
Required:
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider
Preferred:
- Multiple patient care skills preferred
- Prefer one-year experience in health care related field, sterile processing, patient transport or equivalent responsibilities
