What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) - Core Lab - Sorrento Mesa position at Scripps Health?
This is a full time position with varied 8-hour shifts, primarily with start times between 7am and 8am. Saturday weekend rotation every 5-6 weeks. Located at our core lab in Sorrento Mesa.Includes $4,000 retention incentive and $3,000 relocation assistance for eligible new hires.

Our Scripps Medical Laboratory is our system's core lab, servicing all sites and processing over 2.6 million tests annually. With a culture centered around teamwork, each laboratory site serves as a resource of support for each other, setting our laboratories as the benchmark for standardization. The Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) will be trained on a wide test menu that includes many departments, providing variety and a wide range of experience from day to day.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
- Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
- Must remain in original department/specialty
- Must remain in original Job Title
- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or degree acceptable for California Laboratory Licensure
- New graduates are welcome to apply
Required Certification/Registration:
- CDPH Licensure:MTA (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) Licensed to perform work in all areas of the Clinical Lab
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- One year equivalent full time in a clinical laboratory.
Benefit Status: FT - FULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS
Minimum Rate (USD): 52.28 - Maximum Rate (USD): 75.96
