As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. Responsibilities Include
- Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
- Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
- Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
- Round with the medical team and provide patient care interventions
- Precepting students and/or residents as appropriate
- Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients.
- Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
- Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
- Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
- Demonstrating ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
- Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.
- BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
- PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant area of clinical pharmacy practice.
- California Pharmacist License
- AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
- Experience in a health system pharmacy enterprise
- Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents.
Position Pay Range: $77.50-$96.90/hour
Salary : $78 - $97
