What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Nurse Extern - Maternal Child Health Transition Program Track position at Scripps Health?
This is a work study program for a student nurse extern interested in joining Scripps Maternal Child Health transition program as a new grad RN. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in providing care to patients and continue to grow your nursing skills. Work on a high acuity and fast paced unit – "learn by doing" with every patient, colleague and technology interaction.
Work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. Patient care includes initial and routine assessments, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
Upon successfuly completion of the extern experience, and once licensed, you will join the Maternal Child Health Transition Program.
Scripps is hiring student nurse externs for MCH units located throughout the Scripps system. This is a highly competitive position. Unfortunately, Scripps is unable to provide feedback to candidates not selected.
Based on each unit’s needs, positions will be offered for fall semester 2022 for those graduating in December 2022 or for fall semester 2022 continuing through spring semester 2023 for those graduating in May/June 2023.
Must be available to complete the week long Scripps New Employee Orientaition prior to the semester start.
