POSITION TITLE:  Lab Assistant I

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The lab assistant will be working remotely full time on a computational project developing an AI-based RNA folding method. Duties and responsibilities will include training and testing models to improve the accuracy of RNA folding, providing project updates at weekly virtual one-on-one meetings, and attending weekly lab meeting virtually.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

•  Develop, train, and test AI-based models to improve the accuracy of RNA folding predictions. Analyze model performance and implement refinements as needed.

• Provide regular progress updates during weekly virtual one-on-one meetings with the supervisor, discussing challenges, findings, and next steps.

• Participate in weekly virtual lab meetings to discuss research progress, share insights, and collaborate with team members on computational RNA folding methodologies.

• Evaluate computational results, troubleshoot issues, and optimize model parameters to enhance RNA structure predictions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained and a minimum of 1 years of related experience. 
• or Associate degree, (scientific discipline) and (0-1 year), previous related experience required.

 COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $17.25 to $19 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
