Production Technician I

SCS Interiors is growing and has an opening for a Production Technician I to join our team. The Production Technician will primarily be responsible for the assembly of foam kits for the seats we make, but there will also be opportunities to cross train in other areas of the Production department.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Technician is responsible for a variety of functions at SCS Interiors.  The areas of focus include: creating foam kits, upholstering substrates, prep materials for upholstery or installation, re-upholstery projects as trained, hand stitching various components, working in or on cars, part installation and assembly work, and pick-up and delivery of customer products. Production Technicians may also assist with disposing of garbage or cardboard, maintaining the exterior environment of the facility, and other projects as directed. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install new upholstery or re-upholster products
  
• Fasten with glue, Velcro, staples, etc. as indicated on the drawing
• Cut patterns out of new materials if needed, 
  
• Create foam kits by reading prints, gathering correct pieces, cutting them if necessary and assembling them per the drawing
  
• Use adhesive as needed; ensure supplies are used carefully
  
• Prepare substrate and materials based on the drawing or job traveler
• Adhere and wrap parts
• Hand stitch parts per specifications
  
• Remove or install seats or interior parts on cars
• Emboss or deboss materials per specifications
• Skive or split material as needed
• Operate the Hastings labeling machine
  
  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in a production setting is preferred
• Experience using hand/power tools is preferred
• Experience reading drawings/blueprints is preferred

SCHEDULE: Onsite Monday to Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm
