· Public speaking and writing skills required
· Ability to work with local community groups, schools and educators in professional settings.
· A valid Driver's license.
· Must provide proof of citizenship or permit to work in the United States.
· Able to communicate effectively in English.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRESENTING PROGRAMS TO CLIENTS:
Conducts nutrition learning education experiences with limited resource families.
Conducts food demonstrations and activities for recruitment and teaching at local community agencies and schools. Conducts nutrition education learning experiences with identified audience. Conducts special programs and events in targeted communities and schools as directed. Recruits clients in specified regional area to teach nutrition lessons.
ORGANIZING, RECRUITING & COORDINATING EFFORTS WITH COMMUNITY AGENCIES:
Organizes and coordinates plans with community agency or school site to regularly schedule. group teaching sessions and/or special events with the targeted audience.
Recruits and organizes individual or group teaching sessions conducted on a regular basis.
ASSESSING CLIENTS' NEEDS, COLLECTING PROGRAM DATA AND REPORTING:
Assesses participants nutritional needs using program tools and makes referrals to appropriate resources in the community. Assists pregnant and parenting moms in developing a family/individual nutrition education program through hands on experiences (including food preparation activities). Identifies and implements nutrition education plan to achieve program goals. Routinely collects, compiles and updates program data, needed for reporting.

Participates in all required in-service training, with some overnight travel.
