Under the direction of the VP/Branch Administrator, assumes responsibility for the management of a full-service branch office to ensure maximum operating efficiency and to promote the image of the Credit Union within the community. Responsible for the professional development of all staff through mentoring and complies with all policies and procedures established by the Credit Union.
This is a full-time position. Currently evening and Saturday hours are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively promotes and demonstrates SCU’s Mission and Vision Statement
- Opens new accounts and offers SCU services to members. Conducts consumer and mortgage loan interviews and assists members with the completion of applications. Communicates the status of applications to members. Closes consumer and home equity loans and ensures all conditions are met.
- Supervises the ongoing activity of their assigned branch. Monitors staff and takes necessary steps to promote branch effectiveness in conformance with the Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Performs full monthly branch audits and is responsible for corrective action identified.
- Manages all Credit Union operating, security, and regulatory procedures and policies with the branch.
- Provides the development and training of branch personnel in all phases of member service.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations of branch staff. Conducts periodic reviews if appropriate. Resolves personnel problems as they arise.
- Participates in community events/programs to develop relationships within the community.
- Must act as a professional role model in appearance and conduct when representing the Credit Union.
- Oversees the ordering/shipping of cash by Head Teller
- Responsible for staff scheduling
- Monitors and maintains the routine maintenance and repairs of branch equipment.
- Responds to members inquiries for information via phone, or email.
- Ensures the branch is maintained in a professional, neat and attractive manner.
- Keeps informed relative to Bank policies, procedures and objectives.
- Successfully completes on-line training courses as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes responsibility for the management, development and professional growth of all levels of staff within a retail branch and their expected performance while working within the branch.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year college degree and/or 5 years Retail Banking experience. Teller background preferred.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with members with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Excellent Communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of products and services
- Understanding of regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures
- Team player
