Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for managing, evaluating, and monitoring existing commercial portfolio. Provide support to members as a key point of contact. Prepare new loan requests, extensions/renewals of existing loans and annual review packages for submission to the Credit Analyst. When assigned, analyze and underwrite credit risk for new prospects for commercial loans. Provide assistance on due diligence activities including monitoring loans, collateral and financials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for annual reviews of existing loan relationships.
- Manage the existing loan portfolio through credit monitoring so that appropriate actions can be taken to manage the risk, minimize losses and assign accurate risk rating.
- Manage property inspections working with BDO’s during the annual review process.
- Collect updated financials for review, including financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, appraisals, market research and peer data.
- Identify borrower risk/exposure and early detection.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of credit with existing borrowers for new credit requests. Initiates credit modifications, monitors loans, financial reporting, collateral security and audits.
- Prepare credit memos as needed and when appropriate.
- Conduct market surveys to review competitiveness with rates, products and services.
- Partner with BDO’s and be involved in the loan process to build stronger relationships.
- Adhere to all compliance requirements in accordance with Credit Union policies and regulatory standards.

- Prepare monthly reports to monitor the performance of the commercial portfolio
- Assist with loan closings as needed
- Manage Construction disbursement process

Requirements
- Formal credit training (credit analysis & loan review).
- Minimum of five years banking experience with two years in commercial lending.
- Understanding of Small Business Administration 7A, Express and/or 504 loan programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skill, as well as math skills
- Sound knowledge of commercial loan policies, compliance, and loan operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Effective analytical, organizational, business development, presentation, problem-solving, negotiation and customer service skills.
- Ability to use sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently,
- Working knowledge of state and federal employment regulations
EDUCATION:
- Four-year Undergraduate Degree with a field of study preference in Business administration, finance, accounting and/or economics
- Minimum of two years of commercial banking experience which may include business banking, middle market, and/or commercial banking, and commercial credit/risk oversight.
