Opportunity Overview

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It is a research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H accelerates better health outcomes for everyone by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. These opportunities will advance high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity. With a scope spanning the molecular to the societal, these programs have the potential to radically improve everyone's health."

SD Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Action Officer to join our innovative team. The Action Officer will play a critical role in advancing high-impact health research initiatives and facilitate the translation of transformative ideas into tangible outcomes that benefit public health at ARPA-H.

Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to define project goals, objectives , and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with ARPA-H's strategic vision .
  • Conduct comprehensive research on emerging health trends, technologies, and practices to inform project development.
  • Analyze data and compile findings to support decision-making processes and provide recommendations for action.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and briefings to senior leadership and stakeholders .
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with federal agencies, academic institutions, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, ensuring stakeholder alignment and engagement.
  • Represent ARPA-H at external meetings, conferences, and workshops, promoting agency initiatives and priorities .
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of funding opportunities to support ARPA-H initiatives.
  • Oversee grant application processes, ensuring compliance with ARPA-H guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate funded projects, providing regular updates on progress and outcomes .
  • Contribute to the development of policies and strategies that promote innovation in health research and technology development.
  • Advocate for ARPA-H initiatives within the broader health research community, emphasizing their potential impact on public health .

Requirements Overview

  • MBA. (ADVANCED position)
  • 15 years of experience in federal government project management, research, or policy development within the health sector, preferably in a government or research environment. (ADVANCED Position).
  • Master's degree in any field. MPH, Health Policy, Biomedical Science, or a related field is a plus. (INTERMEDIATE position)
  • 10 years of experience in federal government project management, research, or policy development within the health sector, preferably in a government or research environment. (INTERMEDIATE Position)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field. Health Policy, Biomedical Science, or a related field is a plus. (BASIC position)
  • 7 years of experience in federal government project management, research, or policy development within the health sector, preferably in a government or research environment. (BASIC Position)
  • Prefer at least 1 year experience supporting DARPA or related Federal "ARPA" agencies (IARPA, ARPA-E, ARPA-H, HSARPA).

  • Alternate preferable experience at NIH, CDC, FDA, Public Health Service, NSF, USDA, State Health Department, or Local Health Department.
