Position Description

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of business development, working closely with our Business Development Manager / Director to support growth initiatives, market research, and strategic outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, resourceful individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn about the processes that drive business expansion and client relationship. It is a part-time, internship position with potential to grow into full-time employment role. We can work with the candidate's school for an official internship designation if requested. The position is remote.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Market Research and Analysis : Assist in conducting market research to identify potential business opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activities. Compile and analyze data to help refine business development strategies.
  • Proposal and Presentation Support : Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other materials for client meetings. Help ensure materials are tailored to client needs and aligned with company capabilities.
  • Lead Generation : Support the identification and qualification of new leads by researching prospective clients, attending industry events, and utilizing business databases. Help maintain a database of potential clients and partners.
  • Client Relationship Management : Provide support to the Business Development team in nurturing relationships with current and prospective clients. Help track communication and follow-up activities.
  • Administrative Support : Organize and manage documents, contracts, and project files. Assist in scheduling meetings, coordinating event logistics, and preparing reports for the team.
  • Industry Event Support : Assist in organizing and attending industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings, gaining exposure to key stakeholders and industry professionals.

Requirements :

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Must be in 3rd or 4th year of a degree program
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Focuses on technical writing with excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with hyperlinks and basic tagging systems, such as HTML or XML.
  • Well-honed writing skills and proficiency in punctuation and grammar.
  • Ideal candidate :

  • Knowledge of AI tools like Chat GPT, Grammarly, Trello, Internet Archive, etc
  • Is detail-oriented and inquisitive.
  • Has good interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys learning new tools and software.
  • Grasps the goals of each project and has the confidence to ask clarifying questions.
  • Can adapt to and write in our voice and tone aligned with our culture.
  • Meets deadlines.
  • Participates actively in team meetings, offering solutions, ideas, and suggestions.
  • Enjoys taking on new tasks.
