NDA, GameDev | Engineering Technical Lead

On behalf of NDA, GameDev, SD Solutions is looking for a talented Engineering Technical Lead to oversee the technical development efforts of a small, focused team for our mobile game project. The Unity-based game client is central to this role, and you will lead the team to deliver a high-quality, optimized product. This position is technical in nature, focusing on architecture, development, and performance optimization, and reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor the development team through complex technical challenges, ensuring high-quality solutions in both Unity-based client development and backend services.
• Unity Game Client Development: Lead the development and optimization of the Unity game client, ensuring smooth gameplay, excellent performance, and seamless integration with backend systems for multiplayer features.
• Architecture & Design: Make key decisions on the architecture and design of both the Unity client and backend infrastructure, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high performance.
• Development Oversight: Oversee the technical execution of the development team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and aligned with the overall project goals.
• Code Quality & Standards: Maintain high standards of code quality through best practices for coding, testing, and documentation, ensuring a robust Unity client and backend system.
• Collaboration with Engineering Manager: Work closely with the Engineering Manager to align technical strategy with broader product goals, ensuring the team's efforts support the overall vision.
• Problem-Solving: Lead the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues within the Unity client and backend systems.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within both the Unity client and backend infrastructure to ensure smooth gameplay experiences for users.
• Tool & Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and implement tools, technologies, and processes that improve team efficiency and product quality.

Requirements:

• 8 Years of Experience in Development.

• Unity Development: Strong experience with Unity3D, including building, optimizing, and deploying Unity-based game clients for mobile platforms.
• Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading small technical teams and making critical decisions on software design and architecture.
• Game Backend Experience: Experience working with backend systems, particularly in multiplayer games, including handling real-time data synchronization, matchmaking, and server-client communication.
• Coding Skills: Proficiency in C# (Unity) and experience with other languages or frameworks commonly used in game development and backend services.
• Architecture & Design: Expertise in designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems that integrate Unity clients with backend services.
• Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical challenges in both the Unity client and backend systems.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and task management tools like JIRA to guide the team's development efforts.
• Unity Multiplayer Experience: Familiarity with integrating Unity clients with real-time multiplayer features and networking protocols.
• CI/CD: Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for Unity-based applications and backend systems to streamline development and deployment.
• Game Optimization: Knowledge of optimizing Unity game performance for mobile platforms, focusing on rendering, memory management, and network latency.
