Job Description:
SDAC is seeking a highly motivated and eager individual to join our team as an Electrical Apprentice. Under the direct supervision of experienced Journeyman Electricians, the Apprentice will gain valuable on-the-job training and develop the skills necessary to become a successful electrician.
Skills:
- Assist journeyman electricians with all aspects of electrical installations, including: Residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Running conduit, pulling wire, and installing outlets, switches, and lighting.
- Troubleshooting electrical problems and performing repairs.
- Learn and adhere to all applicable electrical codes, safety regulations (including NFPA 70E), and industry best practices.
- Assist with the preparation and cleanup of work sites.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in frame carpentry tasks as required to support electrical installations.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with material handling and inventory management.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
Responsibilities:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license (may be required).
