The Facility Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation and maintenance of equipment at a facility. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in supervising maintenance teams.
The Facility Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation and maintenance of equipment at a facility. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in supervising maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of facility equipment.
- Technical Expertise: Ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Energy Management: Implement strategies to optimize energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency procedures for handling equipment failures or other critical events.
- Safety Management: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety training programs.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staff Management: Manage and train maintenance staff.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in directing operation and maintenance of equipment in a supervisory capacity.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC equipment, and related technologies.
- Certifications: Required to have a New York City Refrigeration and / or Air Conditioning Operators License and a Universal Refrigerant Certification as per 40 CFR 82 subpart F.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
