The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for an assistant professor (tenure track) or associate professor (tenure track or tenured) in Economics for a position beginning in fall 2024. The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota with programs consistently receiving high national rankings from U.S. News and World Report, the Princeton Review, and others. The Economics program is located within the Beacom School of Business, and faculty serve the needs of Economics majors and minors, but also teach several courses in the Business core that are taken by almost all business students.The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate economics courses. The faculty member is expected to provide an outstanding educational experience to students through classroom teaching, mentorship, and student activities outside the classroom. Duties include outstanding teaching, scholarly research, and service to the Department, University, profession, and community. We have a particular need for a faculty member with a field in macroeconomics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on the main campus in Vermillion, online, and occasionally in Sioux Falls, SD.Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. or ABD status in economics is required. Additionally, candidates must have a record of or potential for contribution to the scholarship of economics. Other requirements are proficiency in oral and written communication, and enthusiasm for engagement and service.Preferred Qualifications Candidates with a Ph.D. in economics are preferred.
