The Department of Nursing at USD invites applications for a full-time faculty member for the Sioux Falls site. USD Nursing is one of ten programs within the USD School of Health Sciences, offering a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Degree in Vermillion and Sioux Falls, and RN-BSN program, and an online MSN and DNP program. The School of Health Sciences and the USD/Sanford School of Medicine comprise the Division of Health Affairs. The University of South Dakota is a comprehensive liberal arts state institution with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students.This position will be 9 months, full time. Salary and rank will be based on experience and credentials. This faculty position will be responsible for classroom, theoretical instruction and clinical experiences such as clinical, simulation, laboratory skills, and seminar. The ideal candidate will have expertise in medical surgical nursing.Responsibilities includes oversight and evaluation of students’ clinical reasoning and clinical performance, assessment and evaluation of student learning, and implementation of patient simulations. Recent clinical experience is required. Experience teaching in a baccalaureate or higher degree preferred. Travel between the Sioux Falls and Vermillion campus may be expected.The successful candidate will have a current unencumbered license, eligible for licensure in South Dakota, and hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program. Exceptional written and verbal skills are essential with the ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning, and an ability to work well within a team.
