The Department of Political Science at the University of South Dakota seeks a detail-oriented, motivated, and outgoing individual to join us as the department's secretary. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated skills in various office-related duties including records-keeping; word processing; anticipating problems; setting priorities and managing time; and collaboration with other units across campus. The preferred candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students in the Department as well as administrators, alumni and other partners. The preferred candidate's writing skills will exhibit clear, logical and grammatically correct English. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and the Banner web application/records management system are preferred qualifications. The successful candidate will meet federal eligibility requirements as set forth by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State to be a designated school official (DSO).
