The Materials Manager will be responsible for driving a world-class safety environment throughout the organization while simultaneously overseeing inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) processes, a proven ability to optimize logistics, and people development experience.
Responsibilities:
- Drive a world-class safety culture
- Oversee the entire supply chain from raw material procurement to finished goods delivery. Identify and mitigate potential risks
- Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and inventory levels
- Lead and manage supplier relationships, ensuring strong reliable supplier partnerships that lead to favorable terms and conditions
- Conduct market research and analysis to forecast upcoming levels of demand, raw material availability, forecast price, and market trends
- Develop and implement efficient logistics and warehousing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
- Review, evaluate, and approve material specifications
- Measure and monitor KPIs related to inventory, purchasing, and logistics.
- Serve as a key resource in strategic Company growth projects
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement and logistics professionals while fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment
- Hire, train, and supervise direct reports
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing/logistics
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or related field
- Working knowledge of pricing, material identification, costs, operations and transportation
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, experience with Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Flexible schedule as travel is required
- Must have favorable results in background check and other assessments
Preferred Experience:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management
- APICS training/certification
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) process
