Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our SDS
Weather Inc. team. SDS Weather builds and maintains specialized weather monitoring systems for a wide array of customers across the country. The Installation Technician would work alongside SDS Weather's cyclonePORT division, to perform system installations, conduct system repairs, and administer site surveys for future systems within and around the Tennessee area.
The ideal candidate will have experience with various low-voltage systems,
including security systems, fire alarms, and CCTV installations. This role requires a
strong understanding of computer networking with the ability to read and interpret
digital schematics. Our Installation Technician will be responsible for conducting on-site aid for our cyclonePORT weather surveillance systems. This role requires the ideal candidate to regularly travel and work alongside our clients to provide expert customer service to ensure our systems are functioning smoothly.
This role requires a strong understanding of cabling, system design, and creative problem solving. The Installation Technician will work in various environments, conducting a wide array of on-site services while assuring our cyclonePORT systems not only meet safety and quality standards, but perform seamlessly for our clients.
Role Responsibilities
- Regulary travel to client's locations to perform various tasks.
- Install weather monitoring hardware systems.
- Properly run cables to ensure proper connectivity for all installed systems.
- Ensure systems are installed safely and effectively to meet the needs of each client.
- Troubleshoot and perform necessary maintenance or repairs to installed systems.
- Conduct system design and site assessments to determine the best installation practices for each client.
- Safely and accurately utilize power tools and diagnostic equipment (i.e. voltmeters) during installations and site repairs.
- Read and interpret digital schematics to guarantee proper functionality of the weather systems.
- Maintain accurate records of installations and performed services through service reports and system configurations.
- Collaborate with team members to problem solve and ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in low-voltage technology to enhance our service options.
Role Requirements
- Must be willing to undergo and able to pass an official background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a service vehicle (i.e. cargo van or equivalent)
- Must be able to travel across the state of Tennessee and out of state to boarding locations.
- Previous experience as an Installation Techinchian or similar roles (i.e. field service, service technician, etc.)
- Strong understanding of security systems, fire alarms, sensor systems, CCTV, and/or computer networking principles.
- Ability to read schematics and data trends/documentation effectively.
- Experience with cabling techniques and working with diagnostic tools.
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills and an attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and individually.
