What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installer position at SE Retail?
SE Retail is seeking an Installer to join our team! The Installer is responsible for ensuring that décor and fixtures are properly installed. This position will be exposed to all aspects of the millwork and décor process both in a production environment and an installation environment.
This position is a driving and traveling position, requiring the employee to be out of town frequently during the week and some weekends.
What Is SE Retail Looking For in an Installer?
· 1-3 years’ experience in installation of cabinetry, carpentry or décor in retail environment preferred, but not required. Experience with millwork and field remodels is also preferred.
· Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
· Must be able to travel out of town on a frequent basis and work flex hours and/or weekends as needed.
· Must have a good driving record and able to drive a company vehicle per company policy.
· Helpful to have working knowledge of basic materials, wood, plastic laminates, and hardware.
· Ability to read, understand and interpret paperwork, labels and mathematical measurements including using a tape measure.
· Ability to work independently while utilizing problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
· Valid Driver’s License.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on occasion.
Additional duties that are not required, but good to have are:
· Interpret blueprints and shop drawings to determine measurements and specifications required to construct or repair cabinets, shelves, fixtures, and other wooden articles using woodworking machines and hand tools.
· Install laminate on finished items.
What Will You Do as an Installer?
· Assembles and installs components of fixtures and décor items at client sites.
· Measures, fits and fastens fixtures and décor items.
· Set up and operate such woodworking machines as power saws to cut and shape lumber from stock; trim component parts of joints to proper fit using hand tools such as chisels or wood files.
· Sand and scrape surfaces and joints of articles in preparation for finishing; install hardware such as hinges, catches, drawer pulls and knobs.
· Assembles fixtures, displays, trellis and other wood items. Items are cut and sent to woodworkers with instructions on assembly.
· Operates table saw and miter box making minimal cut for custom fixtures.
· Uses various hand tools, drills, sanders, nail guns and routers.
· Responsible for turning in labor and materials for projects; keeping area clean and responsible for all hand tools.
· Some sheetrock work and painting required on occasion.
· Climbing of ladders and scaffolding required.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
