Inventory Manager in Cannabis

Job Title: National Inventory Manager

Position Summary:

We’re looking for an experienced National Inventory Manager to lead and streamline

inventory operations across all retail locations. This role demands strong leadership,

supply chain expertise, and knowledge of state-specific regulations. You'll oversee

Inventory Managers and Supervisors, ensure compliance and reporting accuracy,

standardize processes, audits and drive operational efficiency across locations. The

ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced,

multi-state environment.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Oversight & Optimization: Manage and standardize inventory processes across all

dispensary locations, ensuring all teams adhere to state, local, and company specific

procedures. Forecast demand and plan inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock

situations. Lead or assist in the rollout of new inventory-related technologies or software.

Compliance & Regulatory: Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal cannabis

regulations. Act as liaison with regulatory bodies during inspections or investigations. Review

and verify destruction logs, quarantine forms, rejection logs, and METRC data

submitted across all stores.

Team Leadership & Coordination: Provide direct supervision, coaching, and

performance management to all store-level Inventory Managers and Supervisors.

Identify underperformance or inconsistencies across locations and take corrective

actions, including retraining or escalating to HR when needed. Develop training

materials and lead ongoing development.

Travel & Audits: Generate and deliver reports on inventory health, discrepancies, trends, and

opportunities. Monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, shrinkage rate, cost per unit, and

turnover rate. Conduct regular site visits to dispensaries across all states to conduct

internal audits. Support new store openings by assisting with onboarding, intake setup,

and staff readiness.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in inventory management, with at least 2 years in a multi-unit or

leadership role

• Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required

• Strong working knowledge of METRC, inventory control systems, and regulatory

compliance.

• Experience in a highly regulated sector is a plus

• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional or multi-site teams

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data reporting, and project management tools

• Willingness to travel regularly to store locations across various states

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment with shifting priorities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
