Job Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring our products meet the high standards expected by our domestic OEM, retail, and aftermarket customers. This individual will take ownership of and expand the current ISO 9001:2015-certified Quality Management System (QMS) to support continued high levels of customer satisfaction, while also increasing throughput and reducing manufacturing costs.
As the manager of the Quality group, the Quality Manager is responsible for the provisioning and maintenance of the Quality Lab and Quality Sample Room and guiding the training and skill development of Quality Control Inspectors, Machine Operators, and other Production support staff.
· Lead the Quality team to execute, improve, and expand the company’s QMS through quality initiatives, scheduled training, and individual mentorship.
· Collaborate with internal teams in the implementation and management of robust quality assurance and quality control processes.
· Contribute to the team effort and work closely with managers, engineers, customer service specialists, and internal cross-functional teams to support new and existing products.
Responsibilities
· Own, manage, and expand the company’s ISO 9001:2015-certified QMS, standardizing processes, procedures, and documentation throughout the organization
· Maintain effective document control and revision control processes
· Oversee calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
· Identify quality problems and recommend solutions
· Author and manage CAR/CAPAs, failure investigations, and other non-conformance resolutions
· Establish appropriate quality metrics, determine critical-to-quality characteristics, and facilitate selection of optimal suppliers
· Help to resolve production challenges
· Participate in Product Development in the support of effective product validation and launch
· Ability to travel to visit customers and audit vendors as needed
· Operate with limited supervision
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing quality experience including experience with plastic injection molding
- Direct experience with ISO 9001 and the implementation of a QMS throughout an organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to discover root causes and identify solutions
- Demonstrated experience in managing and responding to internal and external (customer and supplier) audits
· A cross-functional collaborator with a willingness to share ideas. An active listener, and strong proponent in the power of teams
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently and professionally to internal and external customers.
· Understanding of tolerances and specifications, BOM structure, detailed work instructions, and engineering drawings for inspection and assembly
· Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
