Our janitorial staff play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring that children and staff have a welcoming and hygienic space to learn and grow.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Staff Member to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our preschool facilities. This role requires someone who takes pride in their work and is committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Cleaning: Clean and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, common areas, kitchen, and outdoor spaces, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces.
- Trash Removal: Empty trash and recycling bins daily and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Sanitation: Clean and disinfect high-touch areas regularly to maintain a healthy environment.
- Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed; inform the director when supplies need replenishment.
- Outdoor Maintenance: Keep entryways and outdoor areas tidy and free of debris.
- Safety Compliance: Follow cleaning procedures and use cleaning products according to safety guidelines.
- Event Support: Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or activities, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior janitorial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up-to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with basic cleaning equipment and products.
