Crane Operator
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years as a Crane Operator required.
- Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus.
- NCCCO or NCCER certified a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes, executes and adheres to the company’s safety program.
- Operates multiple pieces of crane equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
- Operates cranes in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of crane before and after each use. Reports to Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager if there are issues.
- Conducts pre-operational checks on crane, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary.
- Maneuvers crane equipment into loading or unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Operates crane equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the crane equipment.
- Performs other duties or task as required based on company’s needs.
