Due to an upcoming retirement, S-E-A, a national forensic engineering firm, is seeking to add an Operations Manager to our team! This is a great opportunity to oversee S-E-A's Texas operations and a staff consisting of multi-disciplinary engineers, project coordinators and technicians. Strong organizations skills and emotional intelligence will ensure success in this role.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follows established procedures to plan, direct, and organize daily operational activities of assigned branch
- Maintains communication between branch and upper management and provides support, guidance, and training to staff
- Full knowledge of all of the features and benefits of the Company's services in order to efficiently train and motivate staff
- Responsible for business development for multi-disciplinary office staff
- Responsible for profit and loss financial activity of branch
- Handles budget and revenue forecasting, reviews billings and addresses any client concerns
- Assists with client account management and business development to help provide better service to customers and stimulate business growth
- Employs, counsels, and disciplines assigned staff
- Provides or arranges training for staff and conducts weekly staff meetings
- Evaluates staff's work performance by preparing annual reviews and conducting counseling sessions
- Assists and advises staff regarding Company policies and procedures
- Oversees and supervises staff workflow
- Maintains communications between the branch and management by preparing and/or approving daily, weekly, and month-end reports regarding operations and productivity, writing memos, and attending management meetings
- Formulates recommendations for personnel and operational policies to management
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
- Regular and predictable presence at work
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
- Experience in the legal, insurance or forensic engineering environment preferred
- Prior supervisory experience
- Proven business management acumen and ability to motivate staff
- Excellent client communication and development skills
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- 35% travel, including airplane travel
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, lift, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator
- Requires the ability to read, write and communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
