Clerk Tennis Pro Shop

Summer hours Friday 745 to 4pm and Sat/Sun 745 to noon. Fill in as needed to cover vacations. Hours change in October to Fri/Sat/Sun 745-4pm.

Responsible for front desk including answering phones, booking court reservations and lessons, using POS for all shop charges, maintaining the cleanliness of the shop and all merchandise. Applicants must be computer literate and work with a smile.

Tennis background preferred but not necessary.

Job Summary
The Pro Shop Attendant plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all patrons. This position involves assisting customers with their purchases, managing inventory, and maintaining the overall appearance of the pro shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills and a passion for delivering top-notch service in a retail environment.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases.
• Utilize sales techniques, including upselling, to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Maintain knowledge of products available in the pro shop to effectively communicate features and benefits to customers.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure products are displayed attractively.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pro shop to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.
• Utilize basic math skills to assist with retail math calculations as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred, ideally within a grocery store or similar environment.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling and inventory management.
• A proactive approach to upselling and enhancing the customer shopping experience.
• Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
