Job Description
The Electrical Instrumentation Engineer will function as a site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all instrumentation and electrical power system designs and distribution equipment reliability in the Seaboard Energy production facilities. This position is responsible for overall coordination and development of detailed designs and installation of electrical systems required to support the company's project execution teams organization wide. This position will frequently collaborate with facility personnel assigned to project and reliability roles. This position will also collaborate with contractors and supplier SMEs.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Work with the Reliability team and management to develop, implement, and maintain specifications, design best practices and guidelines, and reliability standards for the site instrumentation and electrical systems at all sites.
- Accountable for Mechanical Integrity Program for electrical instrumented systems at all sites.
- Support project teams and plant personnel in the interpretation of both company and industry specifications for instrumentation and electrical systems and equipment.
- Respond to site emergencies regarding critical equipment failures when maintenance expertise is not sufficient to address the situation.
- Participate in root cause investigations on equipment failures and development of long-term reliability solutions.
- Oversee electrical equipment installation and commissioning with a focus on quality and safety.
- Support Controls Engineer with their efforts to maintain and upgrade the plant's process control systems.
- Provide basic I E training to plant engineering and maintenance personnel.
- Support plant turnarounds by defining scope on electrical projects, developing backup power solutions, project implementation, and maintenance support.
- Collaborate with external resources, such as engineering contractors and utilities, to develop effective solutions for instrumentation and electrical issues.
- Champion protective device coordination and arc flash studies on any changes to electrical distribution system.
