What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Seaboard Energy?
SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, tax compliance, and federal and state environmental compliance tracking for Seaboard Energy’s renewable fuel productions and other alternative fuels each year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including The Following
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment is in an office setting. Noise level varies from low to moderate levels.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, working hours to be determined. Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including The Following
- Prepare and assist in various GL accounting duties, including research, analysis, reconciliation, journal entry, transaction entry, and financial statement preparation
- Assist in preparation of multi-state fuel tax compliance and file state fuel tax reports
- Assist in transactional compliance reporting in federal and state environmental programs
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Backup and learn other duties in the accounting department
- Assist management in special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
- 2 years relevant work experience required if degree not in accounting
- Has the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Highly organized and has experience prioritizing multiple tasks
- Commitment to being a team player demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to company mission, vision and values
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
